- [S21] South-East Queensland Cemeteries Headstone Photo Collection, created by David Horton and Kerry Raymond. When I last used this, the website was https://www.chapelhill.homeip.net/FamilyHistory/Photos/…
- [S23] General Register Office, England and Wales. Civil registration index, England and Wales, commencing July 1837. This index is based on copies sent in by the incumbent or parish clerk, so there are mistakes. Parish registers of marriage are therefore more reliable than certificates issued by the GRO. When I last used this, the website was https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/login.asp. In June 2024 the online indexes covered births 1837-1934 plus 1984-2021; and deaths 1837-1957 plus 1984-2021. Check their website to see whether that has been expanded. Unlike the old indexes, these show many middle names, and mother's maiden name for births even *before* 1911, and age for deaths even *before* 1865.
- [S24] General Register Office for England and Wales. Civil registration index, England and Wales, July 1837 to date. This source number refers to alternative versions of some sections of the index, such as those on Findmypast (https://tidd.ly/3KIWGEW) and Ancestry (https://bit.ly/AncSS). See also the General Register Office (England and Wales) website's online indexes, and the FreeBMD index.
- [S25] FreeBMD Index, derived from the General Register Office (England and Wales) civil registration indexes. When I last used FreeBMD, its website was https://www.freebmd.org.uk. Note that extra information (middle names, mother's maiden name, age at death, etc), and entries for more recent years, may be in the new online indexes on the General Register Office (England and Wales) website. Occasionally, though, FreeBMD has details that are not in the GRO index.
- [S87] Burial records (cemetery details cited where applicable).
- [S91] Monumental inscriptions (details cited where applicable).
- [S148] Education Department: school admission registers.
- [S150] Queensland Family History Society. Queensland School Pupils Index (Queensland Family History Society, Brisbane, various dates). The index (to which the Society's members have online access) cites the source (usually a school centenary book or an admission register, where you'll find extra information). Part of the index is also online via https://tidd.ly/3KIWGEW
